Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Webcast?
A webcast is the transmission of live audio and video to computers via the Internet.

Which webcast package do you recommend I buy?
We recommend the Superband Packages for the highest quality experience. However, you will need to make sure your computer and Internet connection can handle the Superband webcast speeds before purchasing. Be sure to test the speed of your Internet connection and watch the test clips.

Will FullScreen viewing be available for the LIVE and DELAYED Superband packages?
YES! The final Flash Video Player for the Live and DELAYED Superband packages will have a FULLSCREEN button for your viewing pleasure.

What we recommend for fullscreen viewing is to lower your computers display resolution. 1024x768 or even 800x600. Lowering the computers display resolution, even when output to a tv, will help the fullscreen video look better and less pixelated.

No Audio - Low Audio
Different applications can affect the audio levels of the Flash Player and your Windows Computer. Check these common fixes for audio issues:
- Make sure any speakers are powered on and connected to the computer and are turned up
- Make sure the Windows system volume control is not muted or turned too low. Look for the speaker in the bottom right hand corner of the Windows Desktop.
-Make sure the Wave playback volume control is not muted or turned down. Check at > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Advanced > Wave.

Where do my donations go?
Your donations help fund this and future BHS webcasts in addition to helping the BHS keep the whole world singing.

Can I record or playback the webcast at a later time. Will any of the performances be made available at a later time?
No. Licensing restricts private recordings. Yes, for the first time the webcast will be available via DELAYED VIEWING from July 7 - 14.

Multiple Computer Access
You can now access the webcast from multiple computers, at different times, by using the login that you created during the purchase process..

Wireless Users
We strongly recommend using a WIRED connection rather than using Wireless connection. Wireless can cause additional buffering and freezing screen on the video.

Why are the videos staggering or freezing?
Whether you have a high-speed (DSL/ Cable Modem/ T1) or a low-speed connection (56k Dial-Up/ISDN), Internet traffic congestion affects your connection speed and/or video performance. You will get slower or faster speeds at different times depending on peak or off-peak use hours. You may get slower speeds during the morning and afternoon, but faster speeds late at night when fewer people are online. Also, streaming quality decreases as more people share the line at one time on a Cable Modem connection.

Why do the videos frequently pause to buffer?
If the videos frequently buffer, then it means that you are not maintaining a fast enough connection to our servers to watch our videos at the speed you selected.
